چکیده

Erythrocyte survival, fecal stercobilinogen, chain ratios were so correlated. In the case and the a//3-chain synthesis ratio in reticuof bone marrow, on the other hand, the locytes and bone marrow (six cases only) ratio between a-chain and /3-chain synwere determined and related to the hemothesis was virtually 1, irrespective of the globin levels in ten heterozygous carriers degree of anemia. It is suggested that the of /3-thalassemia with different degrees of severity of anemia in heterozygous carriers anemia. Erythrocyte survival values were is independent of peripheral hemolysis low, though not related to the degree of and entirely attributable to destruction of anemia, whereas stercobilinogen values erythroblasts within the marrow. and changes in the peripheral blood a//3-

Balanced globin chain synthesis in hereditary persistence of fetal hemoglobin.

In two black families with the hereditary persistence of fetal hemoglobin (HPFH) gene there are eight A-F heterozygotes and two double heterozygotes for sickle cell trait and HPFH. These patients are clinically asymptomatic and have homogeneous acid elution smears. Measurement of globin chain synthesis in peripheral blood demonstrates balanced production of a alpha and non-alpha (beta plus gamm...

استفاده از مولتی پلکس PCR در شناسایی حذف های شایع ژن آلفاگلوبین در حاملین آلفا تالاسمی

Background and Aim:-thalassemia is the most common inherited disorder of hemoglobin (Hb) synthesis in the world. Alpha thalassemia most frequently results from the loss of one (- ) or both (- -) of the duplicated  genes () on chromosome 16. Carriers of deletional forms of -thalassemia (-/- /-, or --/) are clinically normal but have a mild hypochromic, microcytic anemia. C...

Globin chain synthesis in the marrow and reticulocytes of beta thalassemia, hemoglobin H disease, and beta delta thalassemia.

a, fi, and ‘i globin chain synthesis in bone marrow and peripheral blood reticulocytes were studied in two patients with thalassemia major, two with thalassemia intermedia, one with thaIassemia minor, one with Hb H disease, and one with homozygous f38-thalassemia. Nine nonthalassemic patients served as controls. In thalassemia major, a marked imbalance of ato fichain synthesis was found in the ...

Erythrocyte morphology and haemoglobin types of neonatal roan antelopes (Hippotragus equinus) with hypochromic poikilocytic anaemia.

Neonatal, poikilocytic anaemia in some members of the Hippotragini has previously been documented but not fully investigated. This study was undertaken to describe the erythrocyte morphology of roan antelopes (Hippotragus equinus) during the first 4 weeks after birth and to identify aspects of haemoglobin (Hb) production that might be implicated in this syndrome. Twenty-nine roan antelope calve...

Corpuscular Haemolytic Anaemias - Lepore Haemoglobinopathy.

Haemoglobinopathies are hereditary conditions in which the fundamental lesion affects the synthesis rate or the structure of the globin in normal hemoglobin. The synthesis of the polypeptide chains in globin is genetically coded. Clinically, haemoglobinopathies manifest most commonly in the form of hemolytic anemia and, more rarely, cyanosis and polyglobulia. They differ from "acquired haemoglo...
